Russian Manicure
A Russian manicure, also known as a “dry” or “waterless” manicure”, is an advanced technique that focuses on meticulous cuticle work and precise polish application. It does not involve soaking the hands in water. Instead, fine-grit electric file bits specifically made for performing Russian manicures are used to gently exfoliate and polish the skin. Cuticle scissors or nippers may also be used to trim excess dead skin.
During this process, the proximal nail fold (the skin at the base of the nail) is lifted and exfoliated which allows product to be tucked slightly under the proximal fold, resulting in minimal to no negative space between the skin and nail, and a longer-wearing manicure.
Russian manicures should only be performed by certified and experienced nail technicians who understand the anatomy of the nail. Aggressive cuticle removal and an improper technique can lead to onycholysis (separation of the nail plate form the nail bed), painful infections, nail ridges (“rings of fire”), and permanent damage of the nail matrix (tissue at the base of the nail that produces new nail cells and encourages healthy nail growth), resulting in nail deformities and in severe cases, loss of the nail(s).

The Gentlemen's Extreme Manicure is a deep treatment manicure where our technicians focus on addressing those extra cuticles, callous, ingrowns and hangnails. It involves a hand soak, cuticle clean up, nail shaping/trim, lotion massage, and hydrating cuticle oil treatment.
Do I need to remove my existing nail polish before getting a manicure?
You're welcome to come in with clean nails, but don't worry if you have old polish on.
Our skilled technicians can take care of removing it as part of your manicure service.

How long will my manicure appointment take?
A standard manicure usually takes about 45 minutes, while a spa manicure may extend up to an hour or more.
Are there any risks involved?
The risks associated with the services we offer are minimal – some may experience reactions to certain products/ingredients that they might be allergic to (scents, artificial nail dust, mineral oils, nail polish ingredients – but this is rare and we haven’t had any clients who have had negative reactions to the products used)
